What's happening in Rm37 for Reading??

This term we are moving from a Reciprocal Reading approach to a CSI approach (and no we are not going to be Crime Scene Investigators). CSI stands for Comprehension Strategies Instruction. Using this process regularly will help us improve our reading as we will be able to make connections, ask questions, visualise, monitor our own comprehension, draw inferences, determine important ideas and synthesise information more easily.

This morning we had our first lesson. It introduced us to the idea that reading is an active, problem-solving process and that by using CSI, we will become better at comprehending future texts. Here is some of what we discussed today.
Keep posted for more of our great reading ideas!

  1. This is a fascinating way to make the links with developing reading strategies. I am looking forward to hearing the students speak about this. Mrs C.
